Making Tax Digital

MTD for Income Tax is here.

From April 2026, sole traders and landlords with income over £50,000 must keep digital records and send quarterly updates to HMRC. If that's you — or will be soon — I'll get you set up on the right software and handle the quarterly submissions, so nothing changes except your peace of mind.

What we do

Services

Limited company accounts

Year-end accounts and corporation tax returns prepared and filed on time, with a clear explanation of what your numbers mean for you.

Tax returns

Self assessment done properly — income from all sources, reliefs claimed, and no last-minute January panic.

Sole traders

Straightforward accounts and tax for the self-employed, with practical advice on records, expenses and what you can claim.

Property returns

Rental income reported correctly for landlords — from a single let to a growing portfolio, including jointly owned property.

VAT

VAT registration, returns and advice — including Making Tax Digital-compliant digital record keeping and filing.

Bookkeeping

Day-to-day bookkeeping on Xero, kept accurate and up to date, so your accounts and MTD submissions are never a scramble.

Xero setup & support

As a Xero Partner, I set you up on the right plan, migrate your records, and provide ongoing training and support.

Advisory

Planning ahead, not just looking back: company structure, salary and dividends, and the decisions that affect your tax bill.

Not sure what you need?

That's fine — most people aren't. Book a call and we'll work it out together, with no obligation.

Why work with us

We do more than just file your accounts.

Whether you're a sole trader or run a limited company, we don't just look back at what's already happened — we look for ways to make your numbers work harder for you. That means making full use of reliefs like trivial benefits, and claiming every allowable expense you're entitled to.

If you run a limited company, that extends further: we'll look at how you extract your money — balancing salary, dividends and pension contributions — in whichever way suits your tax position best. Around three months before your year end, we'll flag anything worth acting on while there's still time, whether that's a pension contribution or adjusting your salary/dividend split. And once your accounts are finalised, you'll get practical, forward-looking pointers for the year ahead, so you're always building on what worked, and improving on what didn't.

About

Hello, I'm Tarlia.

I'm a Chartered Certified Accountant with 20 years in finance, and I set up TK Accounting to give small businesses the kind of service I'd want myself: responsive, honest, and explained in words that actually make sense.

Whether you run a limited company, work for yourself, or let out property, you'll deal with me directly — no call centres, no being passed around. I'm based in Wiltshire and work virtually with clients across the UK, so wherever you are, you get the same personal service.
